The Coronavirus has affected people all over the world and in the Philippines many people are suffering, especially those living in the squatter communities. Sally Escoto the Director of Hands of Mercy in the Philippines has relayed that the situation is very serious. The people are absolutely dependent on food provided by the government who give frugal, unrealistic rations. Hands of Mercy is helping to feed a number of families in Mandaluyong and the UK Trustees are very grateful to the many HOMI supporters who have sent financial help so that the HOM staff can buy food to share with the families. Give thanks to God for those who have raised money by having a “front garden sale”, for the Churches that have given money and for the many individuals who have given gifts. Sally and the HOM staff are so grateful for the messages of support and financial gifts HOMI supporters have been giving.
